How Provenance Revue handles personal information, with particular care for collection submissions.

Provenance Revue is a preservation archive. We apply the same restraint to personal information that we apply to the material in our care.
What we collect
Collection submissions. When you submit a collection for evaluation, we collect the information you provide: your name, contact details, general location, and your description and photographs of the collection. We understand that submissions can touch on family circumstances, estates, and private collecting history. This information is used only to evaluate and respond to your submission.
Newsletter. If you subscribe to Notes from the Archive, we store your email address with our email service provider. Every mailing includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.
Site analytics. We use privacy-conscious, cookieless analytics limited to aggregate page statistics. We do not build behavioral profiles, and we do not use advertising trackers.
How submission information is protected
- Submission data is transmitted encrypted and access is restricted to archive staff who evaluate submissions.
- Uploaded photographs are used only for evaluation. They are never placed in public media libraries and never used in marketing without your separate written permission.
- Location metadata is removed from photographs when we generate internal review copies.
- You may request anonymity at submission; anonymous sources are recorded publicly only in general terms (for example, “a private New England collection”).
- Declined submissions are deleted on a fixed retention schedule, and you may request deletion of your submission information at any time.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share submission details with dealers, appraisers, or any third party without your instruction. We do not publish the identity of consignors, donors, or submitters without written permission.

To review, correct, or delete information you have provided, write to archive@provenancerevue.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
